Party-goers were spell-bound to see Nicole Kidman sizzle the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Soiree with hubby Keith Urban… and the partygoers were even more shocked to see Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise spending 20 minutes in “animated conversation” along with their respective spouses… the friendly-foursome seemed to be enjoying the conversation.

According to Sydney, Australia’s Daily Telegraph, the meet-and-greet between the celebrity couples caused a stir at the exclusive post-Oscars party and was watched intently by the VIP crowd.

Looks like the Ex-Factor was at its prime there

As the creme de la creme of Hollywood sizzled at the red carpet wearing outfits designed by their favorite designers… it looked like a fashion fiesta at the Oscars.

Fashion critic, Tom Julian, of Oscar.com, said,

“This is the year of extravagant designs - fancy fabrics, feathers as trim, unexpected stones and metallics.”

Nicole Kidman was appreciated and was one of the early front runners in the best dress category along with Reese Witherspoon in a strapless deep purple gown and Gwyneth Paltrow in Zac Polsen.

Nicole Kidman can’t help praising her daughter Isabella for that way she managed to calm down the Australian actress on the day of her wedding to Keith Urban.

The Oscar winning star said that when she was all nerves before exchanging vows with the country star and her 14-year-old daughter assured Kidman that she would help her down the aisle.

“Bella said, ‘Don’t worry momma, I’ll get you down the aisle..,” a source quoted Kidman, as saying.

Nic is also sure that her young daughter will grow up to be a benign woman.

“She’s a kind, kind girl, who will become a kind woman,” she said.

Hats off to Oprah Winfrey who came out with this brilliant show were best friends interview each other… the best part being… to see Nicole Kidman speak openly about her personal life.

Nic was interviewed by buddy Russell Crowe. As Crowe and Nic peppered each other with personal questions, Crowe asked Nic if she plans to have a child.

I think Nic should really try biological-motherhood… I wonder why she never wanted biological kids with Tom Cruise!

Aussie stars Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts are re-teaming for the first time since they starred in the film Flirting in 1991.

The pair have been friends for nearly two decades and are set to star in the sexy thriller Need.

Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy is directing the film, which sees Watts playing a psychiatrist, with Kidman as the unstable patient who steals her husband.

The film is set to begin shooting in late autumn

After all those pains she took to arrange for a romantic evening and ordering candles for the Valentines Day… Nic was all alone on the Valentines Day as Keith Urban was in Toronto doing a morning TV show, then interviews all day promoting his new album. Pity!

A source reveals that Urban, who was wearing his wedding ring, was “kinda rockin’ - he definitely had a Jon Bon Jovi thing onstage.” And when an overzealous female fan started acting up, Urban one-lined, “You started drinking way too early this morning, didn’t you?”

Nicole Kidman on Friday praised a U.N. fund set up 10 years ago for initiatives to end violence against women worldwide, saying it had made a difference in the lives of countless people.

Kidman, the goodwill ambassador of the U.N. Development Fund for Women, or UNIFEM, told a gathering of U.N. diplomats via teleconference from Los Angeles that she heard many stories of survival during a tour of Kosovo in October.

She said one woman had been repeatedly raped by soldiers and become pregnant, making her an outcast in her community.

With the help of women’s rights activists, though, she testified about the abuse she suffered before the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands, Kidman said.

“Her rape was used as a weapon of war, how it shatters women’s lives and communities,” she said.

Kidman, who is in Los Angeles shooting the science fiction thriller “The Invasion,” spoke as part of an event to mark the 10-year anniversary of the establishment of the U.N. Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women.

“What is so impressive is how (the women) are speaking out, helping one another and organizing to achieve political and social change,” Kidman said. “For the past 10 years, UNIFEM and the U.N. trust fund … have been a key ally in this movement for change and gender equality.”

Since its inception, the fund has granted more than $13 million to 226 initiatives around the globe, including in Kosovo where UNIFEM has run several projects assessing the impact of the 1990s war on women.

Some of the grant money was also used last year to ensure the implementation of policies and laws to address violence against women in many countries, said Noeleen Heyzer, UNIFEM executive director.

In Liberia, the program is funding organizations that are monitoring how a stiff new law against rape is being enacted, the country’s president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, said in a video message to the group.

“These grants are contributing to the movement in my country toward an accountable government,” said Sirleaf, who became Africa’s first elected female head of state when she took office last year.

Looks like Keith Urban is back to reflecting the lessons that he learnt in the last few months. And he is really grateful to his wife for standing by him. He says they learnt profound lessons off the ebbs and tides they faced together in order to make their marriage work.

“They say grief makes hearts and closer bonds than joy ever can. We’ve been through a lot, and she’s been extraordinary,” he said.

He said, “I can’t really quantify it, because it’s not a soundbite what we’ve learned it’s really profound,” People magazine quoted him, as telling host Matt Lauer on the Today show.

When asked by Lauer what had made Urban slip up in his fight against booze, especially since his professional and personal life was blooming, Urban replied that he had decided to seek professional help because he realized that he was going to slip back into addiction if he didn’t.

“This disease of addiction, you know, it’s nothing to do with contentedness and happiness, because I had all of that. But I wasn’t doing what I should be doing to maintain the road I was on previously, so it was a big wake-up call to get back on the road,” he said.

He may have learnt “profound” lessons as he puts it… but the point is… there is still no guarantee of the fact that he wont end up at the Rehab again. We’ve see that happen before and we might just see that happen again.

And Isabella too, seems to be very fond of her new step-mom… A source said: ‘Katie was having lunch with friends in Beverly Hills when Isabella rang her to talk to her about a party she was going to.

‘Katie said, ‘That was Bella. She wants to wear a dress to a birthday party but I think it is much too grown up for her. But she says her mother approves. So I need to check with Nicole.’ ‘Then after she’d made the call to Nicole she told her friends, ‘Nicole agrees with me. The dress is all wrong. The drama of it all! If I’ve learned one thing about teenagers, it’s that little things mean a lot.’ ‘ Katie - who has a nine-month-old daughter, Suri, with Tom - is keen to be a good mother to Isabella, 14, and 12-year-old Conor, and wants to earn their love and respect herself.

The source also revealed that ‘Nicole is actually a big fan of Katie’s. She thinks Katie is doing an amazing job of stepping up to the plate.

Nicole Kidman, said, “My life collapsed. People ran from me because suddenly it was ‘Oh my God! It’s over for her now!’” when she split with Tom Cruise. But things are not the same for her now. She has been been married to Keith Urban for some eight odd months and she is loving every bit of it, though having seen a lot of ups and downs in the process.

She said, “Every day there is a compromise. Living with somebody requires a lot of understanding. But I love being married. I really love it. Sometimes I try to downplay it a bit because people are like, ‘God you guys.’ I just feel so fortunate that I have found someone who will put up with me and stay with me.”

We hope you a really happy married life Nic… though you have had a pretty rough marriage with Urban… it doesn’t really matter if you are contented with him at the end of the day … Thats what marriage is all about… learning to live… isnt it?
